Liberum appointed as Joint Corporate Broker to Emmerson PLC
We are pleased to announce that Liberum has been appointed as Joint Corporate Broker to Emmerson with immediate effect.
Emmerson is a potash development company focussed on the development of the wholly-owned Khemisset MOP (Muriate of Potash) project in Morocco. Emmerson is also exploring the possibility of becoming a major player in the low-chloride potash fertiliser space by converting some MOP into SOP (Sulphate of Potash); a feasibility study in relation to this is underway.
The Khemisset project has a number of advantages including a relatively shallow orebody, high quality existing infrastructure, an eminently strategic location which should result in highly competitive delivered costs to key markets, by-product salt credits to enhance value and very attractive tax and royalty rates in Morocco.
In November 2021, Emmerson secured a c.US$47m strategic investment from a consortium of investors led by Global Sustainable Minerals which is backed by Indonesian billionaire Indra Widjaja. This has enabled Emmerson to commence the pre-construction phase of the development and the Company is now focussed on securing the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment approval from the Moroccan authorities ahead of finalising preparations for the construction of the project.
